Japanese GP trophy features new kiss activation technology

The winner of the Japanese Grand Prix will be awarded a unique trophy designed by Pininfarina, featuring a special kiss-activated flag.

When the winning driver kisses the trophy on the podium, LED lights embedded in the trophy will illuminate to create a waving motion of the driver’s national flag.

This innovative design, developed in collaboration with race sponsor Lenovo, aims to pay homage to Formula 1’s heritage while incorporating sustainable materials.

The technology will also be used at the United States Grand Prix, with the activated patterns preserved thanks to rechargeable batteries in the trophies.
