The Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 concluded today in Jaipur, marking a historic shift in the state’s technological landscape. Held as a precursor to the National India AI Impact Summit, the event saw the official unveiling of the Rajasthan AI-ML Policy 2026, a comprehensive roadmap designed to integrate Artificial Intelligence into governance, healthcare, and education.
A Massive Drive for Human Capital
One of the most ambitious announcements made during the summit was the launch of a mega AI skilling program aimed at training 10 lakh (1 million) youth across the country. Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, while addressing the conference, emphasized that the goal is to equip the younger generation with practical AI skills within the next year, enabling them to enhance productivity in small businesses and startups.
Modernizing Governance and Infrastructure
The new policy focuses on three core pillars: Good Governance, Skill Upgradation, and Investment. Key initiatives include:
-
Automated Public Services: Utilizing AI to streamline government schemes and provide instant solutions to citizen grievances.
-
Rajasthan’s First Data Centre: Minister Vaishnaw announced that work on the state’s first dedicated AI data centre will begin soon in Jaipur to support secure data storage and real-time processing.
-
Healthcare & Education: AI will assist rural doctors in telemedicine and pathology, while schools will adopt AI tools to personalize learning modules for students.
Global Ambitions from a Regional Base
State leaders, including Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy CM Dr. Premchand Bairwa, highlighted Rajasthan’s ambition to transition from an “outsourcing-led” model to a creator of world-class Intellectual Property (IP).
With contributions from IIT Jodhpur and industry giants like NVIDIA, the conference underscored a “democratized” approach to technology—ensuring that high-performance computing resources (GPUs) are affordable and accessible to local startups and researchers. By aligning regional innovation with global standards, Rajasthan is positioning itself as India’s next premier hub for the burgeoning Deep Tech and AI industries.
