iQOO Z7i has launched and is the first smartphone to feature the Dimensity 6020 SoC

The iQOO Z7i smartphone was unveiled recently and it boasts of being the first device to feature the entry-level Dimensity 6020 chipset. The Mediatek Dimensity 6020 chipset is built using the 7nm process and is specifically designed to power the next generation of 5G entry-level smartphones. It features an octa-core CPU, consisting of two big Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 units with a clock speed of 2 GHz. The GPU used in the chipset is the Mali-G57.

The new chipset supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, and its Image Signal Processor (ISP) can support cameras with a maximum resolution of 64MP. It can also handle FullHD+ displays with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

The iQOO Z7i smartphone features a 6.51-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720p. It comes with 128GB storage, which can be expanded using microSD cards, and RAM options of 4GB, 6GB and 8GB. The phone has a dual-camera setup on the back, which includes a 13MP f/2.2 main shooter and a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera. The selfie camera, located inside the waterdrop notch, is equipped with a 5MP sensor. The iQOO Z7i runs on OriginOS Ocean, a custom user interface based on Android 13. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W charging speeds.

The iQOO Z7i smartphone comes in two colors – Moon Shadow Black and Ice Lake Blue. The phone is priced at CNY 949 ($137/€128) for the 4/128 GB variant, CNY 999 ($145/€135) for the 6/128 GB variant, and CNY 1,099 ($160/€150) for the 8/128 GB variant. The phone will be available for sale from March 20, and it will be launched alongside the rest of the Z7 lineup. Overall, the iQOO Z7i offers great value for its price and is an excellent option for those looking for an entry-level 5G smartphone.
