A report on Engadget reveals that though these apps won’t be able to determine the DNA, it will help users to gather the data, save it on iCloud and share it with medical practitioners. Also, some of the findings within the app could help people to understand if a condition is genetic.

Introduced in March, Cupertino’s ResearchKit apps include studies for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, asthma, breast cancer and Parkinson’s disease. Meanwhile, Apple Health App enables users the option to allow health and fitness apps to interact with each other. It could access data such as weight, glucose levels, and blood pressure. Though, Apple has not made any official confirmation regarding the DNA test app, the tech-giant is known for its interest in the field of medical research.
