Intex, after launching the Xtreme II smartphone last week, has on Thursday launched the Aqua Y4 at Rs. 4,190.

The company touts that the smartphone’s 2-megapixel front camera is the ‘best selfie camera’ in the sub-Rs. 5,000-segment.

The Intex Aqua Y4 is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone which runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It comes with a 4.5-inch (480×854 pixels) FWVGA IPS display, and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek (MT6572X) processor coupled with 512MB of RAM.

The Aqua Y4 bears 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard. The handset’s ‘volume up and down’ key allows users to click images.

On the connectivity front, the Intex Aqua Y4 offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The smartphone packs a 1700mAh battery. It measures 136×67.5×8.7mm and will be available in White, Black, Champagne and Silver colours. Some of the preloaded apps on the handset include Ask Me, Quikr, Newshunt, Clean Master, Myntra, Start, Intex service, and Opera Mini.

The Aqua Y4 is the perfect example of designing devices keeping the consumer in mind, even the slightest of convenience of the user is kept in mind while making this new offering.”

Earlier this month, Intex introduced the Cloud N IPS, listing it on its site with a price of Rs. 4,350. The new Cloud-series budget smartphone was also available to buy via an e-commerce website at Rs. 3,785.
