Intex, soon after launching the Aqua Q5 smartphone, has now launched the Aqua A2 (seen above) and Aqua Y2 Ultra (seen below), priced at Rs. 4,350 and Rs. 4,490 respectively.

The company has listed both the new Intex Aqua-series smartphones on its website; however, there is no official word yet about the availability of these handsets. The official listing of the Aqua A2 also lists free 1GB data for 30 days on Tata Docomo.

Both the Intex Aqua A2 and Intex Aqua Y2 Ultra smartphones share some common specifications. Both the Android 4.4 KitKat-based smartphones come with dual-SIM support and feature 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) displays. Both pack 5-megapixel rear cameras and a 0.3-megapixel front camera.

Both the new budget smartphones also support 3G connectivity, one of the highlights of the handsets at the price point. Apart from 3G, other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB. Both the smartphones feature 8GB of inbuilt storage and support expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB).

There are few differences however, such as the Aqua A2 being backed by a quad-core Spreadtrum (SC7731) processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 512MB of RAM, while the Aqua Y2 Ultra is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Spreadtrum (SC7731G) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Aqua A2 is backed by a 1500mAh battery while the Aqua Y2 Ultra packs a 1400mAh battery.

The Aqua A2 measures 124.5x64x11.7mm, and will be available in Black, and Blue colours. The Aqua Y2 Ultra, on the other hand, will be available in Black, Blue, Champagne, and White colour variants while it measures 124.8×63.1×9.95mm.

Earlier this month, Intex launched the Aqua Q5, listing it on its site at a price of Rs. 5,090. The domestic handset maker also launched the Aqua Y4 at Rs. 4,190.
