Indian Girl wins the Kaspersky Global Think Test Championship 2014

Dr. Swetha P. Jain, Winner of Global Think Test Championship 2014

Kaspersky Lab and Mensa are delighted to announce  the winner of the  Global Think Test challenge, a  series of online brain games, quizzes and  puzzles  launched in early August 2014. Dr. Swetha P. Jain  from Chennai,  India got the highest score in the  shortest time and became the Kaspersky  Global  Think Test Champion.

The winner, along with the other thousands of  participants from all over the world, had a great opportunity to hone her combination and calculation skills in the Brain Training Zone throughout August before registering for the big competition – Global Think Test Day. In the end more than 35,000 people signed up to compete for the grand prize of US $25,000 in cash.

“Well done to Swetha, I hope she can use the prize to good advantage. The Global Think Test was an opportunity for those who engage every day in puzzles, games and brainteasers to get the chance to be rewarded for their problem solving abilities.” – commented Michael Feenan, Executive Director at Mensa International.

The day of the event, September 6, 2014, was a great battle. Some of the brightest brains in the world went head-to-head in pursuit of the big cash prize. Over a 24-hour period participants could access the portal to win the prizes, having a total of two minutes to answer nine or some of the questions. The more difficult the question was, the higher the number of points that could be earned.

The 2014 Kaspersky Global Think Test Champion, 27-year old Swetha, has a degree Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. She is currently pursuing her MSc.

“I got a lot out of participating in the Global Think test. First of all, I had a great opportunity to flex my brain muscles with the IQ tests in the Brain Training Zone. However, the most exciting thing was to find out that I am the Kaspersky Global Think Test Champion. It’s my dream to become a renowned researcher, so I will use part of my cash prize to fund research into In Vitro Fertilization. Away from my research, I love traveling and I’d like to spend some money on completing my travel Bucket List,” said Dr Swetha P. Jain.

“This initiative was developed in partnership with Mensa to remind participants of the importance of attention to detail. The online world requires us to stay in control and be alert to recognize threats wherever we encounter them. Today we are happy to announce the winner of the Global Think Test. We hope that the skills developed during the challenge represent a positive input into the digital risk literacy of every participant in the Kaspersky Global Think Test,” said Alexander Erofeev, Chief Marketing Officer at Kaspersky Lab.

Some of the unique content for the Global Think Test was created by world recognized brands. Mensa, the oldest high IQ society in the world, helped to create brain-teasers and IQ-style questions.

Ferrari, which last year chose Kaspersky Lab as its IT security provider, prepared specially designed Ferrari Formula One related games and puzzles. The fantastic prizes from Ferrari, including a pair of racing gloves signed by Fernando Alonso and Kimi Räikkönen, found lucky new owners. The main prize from Ferrari – an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix – went to Kamran U. A. from India.

Sachin Tendulkar, a Kaspersky Lab Brand Ambassador, also presented his own tasks and video questions, and his own prizes as well. Oliver G. from United Kingdom won a signed bat from “The God of Cricket” by earning enough points to top the leader boards.

And nobody left the Global Think Test empty handed – all participants won– a trial version of our new product – Kaspersky Internet Security – Multi-Device. It’s an easy-to-use, one- license, multi-platform solution that protects virtually any combination of PCs, Macs, Android smartphones and Android tablets.
