IIT Madras Startup Creates Smart Ring for Quick Payments in Under 4 Seconds

An IIT Madras startup, known as Muse Wearables, has developed a smart ring called Ring One, designed to facilitate quick payments in under 5 seconds.

This innovation comes amid a growing trend of smart rings in India, following the popularity of smartwatches and fitness rings from accessory brands like Boat and Noise.

Ring One, produced locally in India, is set to launch globally on September 27 and in India on October 25.

The ring boasts the ability to make payments, track various health vitals, including heart rate, blood oxygen, and blood pressure, monitor sleep cycles, and promote relaxation.

Made from Titanium grade 2 and Ceramic, it is lightweight yet durable, water-resistant up to 100m, and comes in nine sizes.

While its exact pricing has not been disclosed, it is expected to be competitively priced, likely under Rs 10,000.
