After having separated from parent company Huawei, Honor has decided to go solo and launch independently developed products. Some of those products could be coming back to the Indian shores after a long time. Honor is likely to introduce the popular Pad 8 in India, which has seen a global launch in July of this year. Speculations suggest that the Pad 8 may come to India with the same specifications as the international variant.

Flipkart has already teased the launch of the phone on its marketplace without actually giving out many details about the product. Some of the available and speculated details of Honor’s Pad 8 are mentioned below:

Specifications

The mid-range tablet launched in the international market sports a 12-inch 2K display coupled with a 87% screen-to-body ratio. The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 680, an octa-core processor by Qualcomm, along with 128 GB of storage. Although the RAM capcity of the tablet remains unknown, it is confirmed that the latest tablet by Honor will come equipped with a 5 MP camera on the front and the rear.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB On-The-Go are all supported by the MagicUI 6.1 operating system on the Honor Pad 8. The Honor Pad 8’s 7250mAh battery powers the device and enables 22.5W rapid charging. The tablet comes with eight DTS:X Ultra powered Honor Histen speakers. It is 6.9mm thick and weighs 520 grammes. The Honor Pad 8 contains an ambient light sensor and an accelerometer.

Pricing: –

Back in China, where Honor’s tablet was first launched, it was prices at CNY 1,499. A back of the napkin calculation and currency conversion translates to the Rs. 17,000/- mark. However, considering that Honor is making a comeback in the huge Indian market after a long time, it can price the tablet aggressively and offer some discounts from the beginning as well, such that it can gain back some lost market share in the highly competitive Indian market.
