hp slatebook 14 touchscreen android notebookitaliaHP may soon be announcing another Android OS-based device, the HP Slatebook 14, as the unannounced single-OS notebook is said to have been spotted in a purported official promo video.

The video is said to have briefly appeared on HP’s website, and was first spotted by an Italian website Notebook Italia. The video has since been taken off.

The HP Slatebook 14 device spotted in the video was detailed to feature a full-HD touchscreen display, and is not a convertible laptop, unlike the Android-powered HP SlateBook x2 hybrid launched last year at Rs. 39,990.

According to the website, the Slatebook 14 will feature a Nvidia Tegra quad-core processor (Tegra 4 or Tegra K1) with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, which is expandable via a SD card slot.

The touchscreen is said to be a 14-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) offering, and company is expected to offer cheaper variants with lower-res HD displays. The connectivity options are said to include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth.

The website also speculates that Slatebook 14 could run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with free access to all Google apps, however HP did not indicate the version of the operating system in the alleged promo video.

The video showcased the HP Slatebook 14 in an ultra-slim design with a black and sun-yellow combination on the bottom and on the logo.

Last year, HP had launched its first Android-powered convertible laptop in India, the HP SlateBook x2. The SlateBook x2 is a 10.1-inch (1200×1920 display resolution) Android tablet that turns into a notebook with a base unit that includes a keyboard, battery and additional ports. It is powered by a 1.80GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4 processor alongside 2GB RAM and 64GB SSD storage.

HP SlateBook x2 includes rear and front cameras that are capable of recording 1080p and 720p videos respectively. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an audio jack, 1xUSB 2.0 port, 1 SD card slot and a HDMI port.
