HP introduces new Elitebook 800 G5 series, ZBook 14u and ZBook 15u laptops

American enterprise IT major Hewlett Packard has announced its latest line-up of premium notebooks – HP EliteBook 800 series and HP ZBook 14u/15u mobile workstations. Along with this, the company also launched the HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 and expanded portfolio of four new HP 4K displays. It will be showcasing these products at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, to be held from February 26 to March 1, 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.

Both the EliteBook 800 and Zbook come with an ultra-bright display that automatically adapts to changing light conditions, as claimed by the company to come in a business notebook for the first time. Besides this, they also feature a “world-facing,” noise-cancelling microphone. This microphone is claimed to remove unwanted sounds when in individual mode or enhances for 360-degree voice pick-up when in conference mode.

Both series also come with “industry-leading durability,” as they passed two additional MIL-STD tests for bench handling and crash hazard shock for unpredictable conditions in technical environments.
All these devices come with HP Premium Collaboration Keyboard, which features built-in keys to manage calls, and include HP PhoneWise, again the world’s first Windows solution to text and call from the PC across iOS and Android devices.

The HP EliteBook 800 consists of three models — HP EliteBook 830 G5, HP EliteBook 840 G5 and HP EliteBook 850 G5 with a starting price of $1,049, $1,029 and $1,039. The 830 G5 replaces the previous HP EliteBook 820 G4 with a 13-inch screen in a 12-inch notebook; the 840 G5, the company claims is the world’s thinnest 14-inch business notebook with 8th generation Intel Core processors and discrete graphics card, AMD RX540, also present in the HP EliteBook 850 G5.

Coming to the ZBook 14u/15u, the mobile workstations feature the HP Sure View for greater user and data privacy. They run 8th generation Intel Core Quad Core Processors with vPro technology and AMD Radeon Pro graphics. The 14u G5 is, according to the company, the world’s thinnest workstation at just 17.9 mm. The 15u G5 runs Intel Core i5 and i7 Quad Core Processors with vPro technology, AMD Radeon Pro 3D Graphics.

Besides these notebooks, HP also launched Thunderbolt Dock G2. This dock enables IT to support any HP or non-HP device notebook with Thunderbolt and USB-C functionality. This dock provides power, supports up to two 4K displays.
