Honor 9 Lite launched in India

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has announced its first smartphone launch of this year. The Chinese smartphone brand, whose Honor View 10 smartphone went on sale just last week, has launched an addition to its Honor 9 series in India.
Called Honor 9 Lite, the smartphone appears to be less-powerful variant of Honor 9i. The Honor 9i smartphone launched in India in October 2017.
Huawei seems to be betting big on the Indian market, as this is the company’s second smartphone to launch in India first. Honor 9 Lite will be launched in other geographies next month. That is similar to the launch of Honor 7X, which too launched in the Indian market before other regions.
Price and availability
The Honor 9 Lite has a starting price of Rs 10,999. The smartphone’s base model comes with 32GB internal storage coupled with 3GB RAM. The second variant sports 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM and is priced at Rs 14,999. The smartphone will be available on Flipkart starting January 21. The colour options of Honor 9 Lite include Sapphire Blue, Glacier Grey and Midnight Black.
Specifications
The highlights of the Honor 9 Lite are its design and quad-camera setup, same as that of Honor 9i. Honor 9 Lite boasts of a dual-glass unibody design. It is said to have 12 layers of glass, giving it a mirror-like effect on the back panel. It features a 2.5D glass coating on both front and back.
The handset has a 13MP+2MP camera setup on both front and back of the device. The front camera has f/2.0 aperture and has upgraded gender-based beautification feature, gesture controls and ability to capture the Live images. The back camera dual camera setup comes with HDR mode and PDAF fast focus features.
The Honor 9 Lite smartphone has a bezel-less full HD+ display of 5.65-inch screen size with 1080×2160 resolution with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the company’s own Kirin 659 octa-core processor with 3,000mAh battery, which is claimed to last an entire day.
The smartphone runs the Huawei’s own EMUI 8.0 UI based on Android 8.0 Oreo which includes features like anti-mistouch that works on 65 such actions, split screen mode, home shortcut sub menu.
