Hisense has launched its UX Mini LED TV which can produce 2,500 nits of peak brightness

Once you get past the gimmicks, the CES 2023 TVs have a common theme. Each producer aims to produce the brightest setups they can. Due to this, Samsung and LG had to make greater investments in each company’s OLED display technology. Hisense is instead exploring the limitations of the Mini LED. At CES 2023, Hisense unveiled the 85-inch 4K TV, the UX, which the company claims can produce 2,500 nits of maximum brightness.

The television, which is the company’s first model in its new ULED X line, is driven by Hisense’s proprietary Hi-View Engine X technology. According to the business, the chip is what makes the UX unique. The Hi-View Engine X provides the UX with control over more than 20,000 Mini LEDs, 5,000 local dimming zones, and the first-ever 16-bit light control algorithm in the industry, allowing it to produce smoother and more accurate dimming and colour effects.

Hisense asserts that the UX can produce two times the dynamic range and three times the “environmental contrast” of an OLED TV. I should mention that Hisense omitted to specify which OLED TV it utilised as a comparison. The manufacturer claims that the UX has a 150,000 to 1 contrast ratio for a clearer comparison.

Hisense promises that the UX’s audio quality is equally excellent. A brand-new seven-speaker system with Dolby Atmos multidimensional sound and more than 80 watts of power is included with the TV. Additionally, WiFi 6E, Dolby Vision, and AMD Freesync Premium Pro are supported by the UX. When the TV ships, it will also have an integrated ATSC 3.0 tuner for viewers who like to watch broadcast content. Hisense has not provided information regarding the cost or availability of the UX. Those should appear after CES.
