HCL unveils TechBee in Chennai – Early Career Training Program

The program is aimed to provide software engineering jobs to bright 10+2 students
HCL’s new people strategy for 10+2 students aims to offer software engineering jobs by equipping them with the future ready skills.

Leveraging the demographic dividend in Rural India, this program contributes to the “Skill India” mission. Through this program, a 10+2 student will gain skills to do a software engineer job with HCL and also enroll into Masters in IT program. Students who have joined this program have a minimum 85% marks in their 12th exam with Maths as a subject.

Students who wish to enroll for the program are given counselling along with their parents either in a group session or on a one-to-one basis before the entrance test to understand the nuances of the program and the future of the students on successful completion of the program. The program would provide a combination of academic training for nine months and on-the-job training for three months making them self-reliant. During the first year of training, enrolled students will get a stipend of Rs10,000 per month. Speaking at the occasion – Srimathi Shivashankar, Vice President – HCL Technologies said, “We are excited to unveil Tech Bee in Chennai – HCL Early Career Training Program. The first batch of the Tech Bee program was launched in Madurai & Lucknow last month. The program will prepare these students technically and professionally for jobs in software engineering with us. This effort from HCL will enable students with early career aspirations to become self- sufficient and also pursue Higher education. We are looking forward to working with local schools across Chennai and Tamil Nadu.“
