HCL Technologies and Greater Manchester Police partnership named ‘Innovation of the Year’ Gold Winner, and ‘Overall Winner’ at the UK Business Awards 2020

HCL Technologies (HCL), a leading global technology company, today announced its partnership with Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has been recognized as the ‘Innovation of the Year’ Gold Winner, and ‘Overall Winner’, at the UK Business Awards 2020.

GMP is one of the largest police services in the United Kingdom, responsible for the safety of more than 2.7 million people. HCL has been working with GMP as its strategic technology partner for the last four-plus years and the ‘Innovation of the Year’ and ‘Overall Winner’ awards recognize how HCL’s policing solution has helped GMP to transform the way policing works.

Through the partnership, HCL has rolled out OPTIK (HCL’s Policing Solution) for the front line police officers and iOPS Dashboard to help the force eliminate process inefficiencies and reduce the need for officers to return to the station to complete tasks. Handling nearly 400,000 transactions each month, the HCL policing solution has significantly improved citizen safety and officer performance by reducing back-office tasks and increasing officers’ on-street presence.

The UK Business Awards (UKBA) celebrate excellence and innovation in British business. They recognize the organizations, teams and individuals who together are shaping the future of business.
