Google Voice control Now Supports Third- Party Apps

Google’s voice search service now supports third-party apps. So, Ok_Google_Voice_Searchnext time you can simply say ‘Ok Google’ even while accessing apps developed by third-party developers.

With this new feature, users will not only be able to launch apps, but also do things within these apps, without even touching the screen. “ we launched our first set of partners for custom Google voice actions on Android. This feature will enable people to say things like ‘Ok Google, listen to NPR’ or Ok Google, show attractions near me on TripAdvisor,” a post on Android Developers’ Google Plus account reads.

Google is currently testing the feature with limited partners like NPR One, TuneIn, Zillow, Flixster and TripAdvisor. However, if all goes well, it will expand to other partners too.

As of now, the voice service recognises around nine languages including English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Russian. It comes with a single API key which supports multiple devices such as phones, tablets and Android Wear-based wearables.
