In a major step toward the next era of digital marketing, Google has officially rolled out a suite of advanced generative AI advertising solutions in India. Foremost among these new offerings is “Business Agent for Leads,” an interactive, Gemini-powered search ad format designed to streamline the way brands connect with potential consumers.
Seamless Conversational Search Experiences
Unlike traditional digital advertisements that redirect users to an external landing page, this new format embeds an autonomous AI agent directly within the search results. Trained specifically on the advertiser’s official website, the agent allows users to chat, ask nuanced questions, and seek detailed information regarding products or services without ever leaving the Google Search page. The ultimate goal is to offer instant context and convert intent into deeply qualified leads. Edtech major Upgrad was among the first platforms to gain early access to this beta feature to engage prospective students.
Expanding Marketing Intelligence
The announcements reflect a broader shift across the digital ad industry—dominated primarily by Google and Meta—moving past basic automation into “marketing intelligence.” To further empower businesses, Google also unveiled Ask Advisor, a specialized marketing assistant that consolidates cross-channel insights from Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Marketing Platform, and eventually Merchant Center to deliver tailored strategic recommendations.
Additionally, the company rolled out several features tailored to specific workflows:
-
YouTube BrandStack: A locally developed, automated solution built in India that integrates campaign planning, buying, and measurement across surfaces like Connected TV (CTV).
-
Upgraded Asset Studio: An AI-driven asset creator enabling merchants to generate brand-accurate images, videos, and texts using natural language inputs and specific brand guardrails.
-
Location-Based Discovery: Expanding “Demand Gen” campaigns directly into Google Maps to help businesses capture potential customers based on proximity.
Shifting Consumer Behavior
According to Google, the integration of AI is rapidly modifying search behavior, with user queries on its AI Mode tracking three times longer than traditional searches. In India, over 80% of surveyed consumers indicated that AI features helped them make faster and more confident purchasing decisions. By deploying intelligent agents that can interpret complex prompts, Google aims to minimize irrelevant ad placements by up to 40%, ensuring a cleaner experience for users and higher conversion rates for enterprises.
