A Chromebox is a PC that runs Google’s Chrome OS, also known as the desktop variant of the Chromebook laptop. It is targeted at the education sector.

The Asus Chromebox has an HDMI, DisplayPort++ and four USB3.0 ports. It comes with a built-in dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and has an Ethernet slot. It runs on 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor and features a Full HD camera with autofocus lens.

The device has a microphone with a wideband frequency response. It comes embedded with built-in DSP for speech clarity and an omni-directional microphone with noise filter. It has buttons like mute, end call and volume. It works on a QWERTY keypad based remote control, which has a full on rear, and a nano-sized USB adapter.

By pressing buttons on the remote, users instantly get logged on to their meetings without having to use the dial codes. With a universal shortURL, the laptop screen can be shared wirelessly.

Almost 15 participants can join the video meeting from other conference rooms via laptops, tablets or smartphones through their Gmail account. Additionally, firms can also connect traditional video conferencing systems like Vidyo. Chromeboxes which run on Chrome OS, will apparently get automatic updates.
