Google Hangouts finally Has Its Own Website

Google Hangouts has recently launched its own website which provides its users an easy access to start an audio or video call or initiate a chat conversation. “From our Google_hangoutsnew site you’ll be able to take advantage of the best of Hangouts in the browser, along with an inspiring image to get you through the day,” announced Jordanna Chord, software engineer, Google. You may catch the glimpse of the fresh website by clicking on hangouts.google.com.

With the introduction of new standalone interface, even the non Gmail users would be able avail the services of hangouts. It neatly highlights the key features of Hangouts, i.e. messaging, voice calls and video hangouts on the homepage.

The Web interface keeps the full list of Google Hangouts conversations at the left-side of the screen and displays ‘Hi [first name]!’ with three circular buttons at the bottom. It allows users to jump to the contacts and phone calls tabs with a single click. Just below the phone calls tab, one can see three-dot ‘More’ button which needs to be clicked in order to spread the hidden side panel on the screen.

It also seems that Google is aiming to streamline its services. Meanwhile, the material design is available on Android as well as iOS devices. A few months back, its major competitor Facebook had launched its standalone Messenger services for mobile devices. Google has recently revealed its plans to reorganise into new firm called Alphabet. It began as a search engine firm, but today it has become a synonym of technology.
