Google Cloud has announced the appointment of Sashikumar Sreedharan as the new Managing Director of Google Cloud India, marking a strategic move to strengthen its leadership amid India’s accelerating cloud adoption.
Sreedharan steps into the role previously held by Bikram Singh Bedi, who led the India region for over four and a half years. Bedi will now shift focus to strategic initiatives at Google Cloud APAC.
In a statement, Sreedharan expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “My time as APAC COO has deeply affirmed my belief in Google Cloud’s winning strategy and powerful AI-first platform. I am excited to return to the field and to work with our customers to advance their innovation agenda.”
Prior to this appointment, Sreedharan served as the Chief Operating Officer for Google Cloud APAC, where he gained deep insights into regional market dynamics. His career spans prominent leadership roles at Microsoft, SAP, and Happiest Minds. Notably, he served as the Managing Director of Microsoft India, overseeing the enterprise business.
In his new role, Sreedharan will lead Google Cloud India’s go-to-market operations, working closely with enterprise clients, digital-native businesses, partners, and the developer community. His leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in accelerating cloud adoption across sectors.

Karan Bajwa, President of Google Cloud for Asia Pacific, welcomed the move, stating on LinkedIn: “Sashi brings a deep understanding of the dynamic Indian market and of our business honed during his tenure as our APAC Chief Operating Officer, and I’m confident his vision and expertise will drive Google Cloud to new achievements in the region.”
Google Cloud India currently serves a wide array of industries, including banking, financial services, insurance (BFSI), retail, manufacturing, telecommunications, and startups. Key clients include HDFC, ICICI, the Federal Bank, Flipkart, and the Reliance Group.
The company operates two cloud regions in India — one in Mumbai and another in Delhi-NCR, the latter of which was established in 2021 to support rising demand for low-latency services, disaster recovery solutions, and capacity building.
With Sreedharan at the helm, Google Cloud India is poised to reinforce its position as a transformative force in the country’s cloud and AI ecosystem.
