“Google Announces Simplified SIM Swapping Process for Android Users”

Google is set to streamline the process of switching between two active SIM cards on Android devices. Currently, Android users can have multiple SIMs installed, whether physical cards or a combination of traditional and eSIMs, but switching between them involves multiple steps within the Settings app, typically under Network and Internet settings.

In response to user feedback requesting a more convenient method for SIM swapping, Google is planning to incorporate this feature into the Quick Settings menu, as reported by 9to5Google. Google confirmed this development via a Support page but did not specify when this change would take place. The initial request was made by a user in 2022.

Although the exact release date is unknown, the Android 14 QPR beta expected in December is a likely timeframe for this feature to become available. In the meantime, users facing difficulties with SIM swapping can find apps in the Google Play Store that enable this functionality within Quick Settings.
