Gamesa India Secures 100mw Wind Power Project With The Hero Group

Project involves supply of 50 G97-2.0 MW that will be commissioned by March 2016 in Madhya Pradesh

Gamesa India, a leading renewable energy company in the country, has signed a 100 MW Wind Power Project Order Gamesawith Hero Future Energies (HFE), a venture of The Hero Group that caters to providing renewable power. Under this contract Gamesa will supply and erect 50 units of G97-2.0 MW turbines with a tower height of 104 metres at Dhar site in Madhya Pradesh. The commissioning is scheduled for completion by March 2016.

Commenting on the new order win Chairman and Managing Director, Gamesa India. Mr. Ramesh Kymal said, β€œWe are happy to announce our new order win from The Hero Group. This partnership shows the trust customers have in our project capabilities and help us inch closer to the renewable energy targets set by the government which will secure the energy requirements of the country.”

Mr. Rahul Munjal, Managing Director of Hero Future Energies (HFE), commented, β€œThis is HFE’s first self-development project in India. We are encouraged by universal success of the self-development strategy. When combined with turnkey projects, alongside key industry players, this project will provide diversification to our firm. Completing this and other such developments in the pipeline, our cumulative installed capacity is likely to be over 500 MW by 2016.”

Mr. Sunil Jain, CEO & ED, Hero Future Energies (HFE), added, β€œOur strategy towards self- development is to optimize the resources as well as the costs, which is well articulated in this project. This move comes in the backdrop of our ambition to maximize generation at the farm level. This is the second order Gamesa has won from the Hero Group within a year’s time, with the last one being commissioned in March 2015 for a 90 MW project.”
