Foundation for a bright future of the Aluminium Die Casting Industry in India

Reserve Base of 1,400,000 thousand tonnes of Bauxite to fuel the growth of India to become World’s largest manufacturing base for aluminium die casting

India’s biggest exhibition for the Aluminium Die Casting Industry, ALUCAST 2014, will be held from December 4-6, 2014 at BIEC, Bangalore. This is the perfect time for all stakeholders to come together and be a part of this growing industry.

ALUCAST-2014_02The exhibitor spectrum of ALUCAST 2014 includes products and services from Aluminium Die Casting, Aluminium Recycling, Automation of Casting Process, Melting Practices and Metal Treatment, Post Casting Operations, Heat Treatment Specialists Instrumentation and Control, Software Systems Integration/Rapid Prototyping, Die Casting Machinery Manufactures, Die Manufacturers, and Machine Tools.

Speaking about ALUCAST 2014, Mr. Prasan Firodia, President, Alucast, saidIndia has emerged as a significant player in the global automotive supply chain. This industry accounts for 7% of India’s GDP. With continued development in the infrastructure and entry of newer FDI’s, auto component industry will be further boosted. This will have a positive impact on the die-casting industry as an estimated 60% of the die castings produced in India are used in the auto Industry. Added to this we have an advantage of educated labour at competitive costs and economies of operations. This should help the industry grow and become the world’s largest aluminium die casting base.

Speaking on the occasion, RAR Prasad, Secretary, Aluminium Casters’ Association of India said,India is the third largest producer of aluminium castings in the world with a total production of over 900,000 tonnes annually. India has a reserve base of 1,400,000 thousand tonnes of bauxite which is the world’s main source of aluminium. Considering the immense reserve that our country holds, this industry is poised to grow phenomenally and will become world’s largest manufacturing base for aluminium die casting“.

The global auto Industry is moving towards improving fuel efficiency by reducing the weight of vehicle. Replacement of heavier parts made from cast iron and steel by lighter aluminium parts is the future. These aluminium parts are now further being redesigned to achieve lower weights. The Theme of this year’s Conference “Lightweighting of Aluminium Castings” is therefore very appropriate and timely. Experts of international repute will present papers during the Conference sharing their knowledge and experience. Topics like – Light weighting by product re-engineering and Change of production process, Die casting Technology for Structural Parts, and Advantage of using Vacuum Technology for light weighting PDC Parts are a few presentations that the attendees can look forward to.

Along with this, the latest technologies available to die casters can be seen in Machines, Accessories and Foundry equipment on show at the exhibition. Industry counterparts connected to design, development, manufacture and use of aluminium castings will greatly benefit from the exhibition and the conference.

All in all ALUCAST 2014 is just the right platform for the industry to converge and update on the newest developments in the field.

“With the accelerated growth of the Automotive, Electronics, Electrical Appliances, Mechanical and Electrical Instruments and Toy Industry in India, ALUCAST 2014 is just the right platform for the industry to converge and get ready for the unprecedented boost that it will witness in the near future. With ALUCAST 2014, we wish to create a global forum for the Indian Die Casters to showcase Brand India to the World” said. T. Parabrahman, Trustee, Aluminium Casters’ Association of India.

“Welcome to ALUCAST-14 and witness what the experts have to say on contribution of Aluminium casting industry towards a cleaner, greener future, and, see for yourself exhibits with new technology which make this possible.”

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sonia Prashar, Managing Director, NuernbergMesse India said, “We are glad to be the event producers for ALUCAST India and hope to further contribute to the success of this event with our expertise of EUROGUSS –International Trade Fair for Die Casting from Germany. The show in its 6th edition has emerged as a convergence platform for the key stakeholders of the industry and is set to take it to a whole new level.”

The Bangalore International Exhibition and Centre (BIEC) with over 40,000 sq. m of fully covered and air conditioned space, makes for the best exhibition venues in the country and offers its exhibitors services and amenities at par with international standards.
