Flipkart App crosses 50 Million Mark on Google Play Store

Flipkart, a leading name in e-commerce has become the first Indian app to cross 50 million installs mark on Google Android Play Store.
This has happened shortly after the Similar Web report, that ranked Flipkart as India’s number one shopping app with 47 per cent share of visits.
As per Similar Web report, the combined traffic share of Flipkart and Myntra stood at an overwhelming 63 per cent. Amazon was in the third position with 15.86 per cent followed by Snapdeal with 13.84 per cent.
The Morgan Stanley report on Ecommerce in India for 2016 has placed Flipkart as the undisputed number one e-commerce company in India with a dominant market share of 45 per cent. According to the report, Flipkart’s market share of 45 per cent is equivalent to the combined market share of the rival companies like Snapdeal, Amazon and Paytm.
The Indian e-commerce market is dominated by mobile app with around 70 per cent of traffic coming from mobile devices.
