Facebook Boasts One Billion Users In One Day, Mark Zuckerberg Says

The date August 24, 2015 will now be marked in golden words as it holds an important day in the history of Facebook. This happens to Mark Zuckerbergbe a day when no less than one billion Facebook users logged on to its site. This apparently means that one in seven people in the world used Facebook at the same time. “We just passed an important milestone. For the first time ever, one billion people used Facebook in a single day,” announced Mark Zuckerberg.

With US$ four billion revenue in July, Facebook has seen a massive increase in its usage. Established in 2004, the social network is just eleven years old but has seen an enormous growth in these years. The company’s initial stage has been captured beautifully in David Fincher’s movie named, The Social Network.

In 2012, Facebook crossed one billion registered active users. The number has now reached about 1.44 billion, which interestingly reveals that 70 per cent of its users were online on Monday. While Facebook has now set a new record, it also posted a special video to celebrate the milestone reached.

Meanwhile, proud Zuckerberg said, “Our community stands for giving every person a voice, for promoting understanding, and for including everyone in the opportunities of our modern world. A more open and connected world is a better world. It brings stronger relationships with those you love, a stronger economy with more opportunities, and a stronger society that reflects all of our values.”
