In an exclusive interview with IT.Voice,Mr Sanjay Joshi, Country Manager at Edimax Technology,reveals his strategies for business in India .
Nisha Harshwal :-What is your share in Indian market?
Mr.Sanjay Joshi :-India market and the opportunities here are huge in the space we are operating and there are several major players in the market. Currently we are focused towards making our reach and penetration towards new geography rather market share and increase our presence with quality and performance products.
Nisha Harshwal :-What are your growth strategies for more profitable business?
Mr.Sanjay Joshi :-We have been in the networking industry for past three decades now. We have grown to be one of the world’s leading manufacturers of advanced network communication products across the world. Edimax has always evolved with superior technology and catered efficiently to targeted market segments.
We believe that India being a vast complex market both in terms of geography and diversity of every region – we keep our strategies flexible. There are lot of strategy mix which we follow which makes our business more profitable like introduction of new innovative product lines from time to time, special offers for channel partners, training programmes for channel partner’s global expansion, improved efficiency and providing increased customer satisfaction.
Also, as a channel focused company we believe in growing as a team. So, we work very closely with our channel partners who are an integral part of our business eco-system.
Nisha Harshwal :-What is your say about “customer satisfaction”?
Mr.Sanjay Joshi :-Today, Indian customers are much more demanding and have good amount of knowledge about products and technologies as compared to the initial days of IT industry. The customer wants the best of both worlds – pricing as well as the latest technology. In this competitive environment, we feel that the customer satisfaction for their demands leads to a long term relation with the customer. We at Edimax have always been striving to understand the needs of customers and create our strategy accordingly. We try & understand the needs of our customers and fulfil it by providing high end and superior technology which helps us in customer retention.
The repeated purchases show that our customers have been loyal to our brand in all these past years. Today, in the times when social media is available to the customers 24×7, one needs to be on the toes to be able to provide the best in class services to the customers.
Customer engagement is the key in today’s world and we at Edimax are constantly improvising on our existing strategies. We believe that if the product is efficient and innovative enough, sales will follow and customers will be fully satisfied.
Nisha Harshwal :-What is the challenge that Indian market is offering?
Mr.Sanjay Joshi :-We believe that India has vast economic opportunities and potential but with every opportunity comes great challenges. No doubt these days we are leading towards digitization but still there is slow adoption of technology as various sectors are still not aware about it. We always reach out to the end users, partners, etc. and create awareness about the latest technologies which can be highly beneficial for their multi-tenant environ.
Also the complex tax structure which includes different taxes for different states created a lot of complexities in terms of doing business. But we believe that we will overcome this challenge after the introduction of GST as every business would become liable to follow one nation one tax structure. This would surely bring ease in doing business and transparency.
Nisha Harshwal :-How was hike in network demands profitable for your business?
Mr.Sanjay Joshi :-Networking is a key for any organization IT Infrastructure and we are seeing a major growth post GST. We are working on several plans to make partner profitability by bringing new solution and extending local support. We can see a huge network demands profitability in business.
Nisha Harshwal :- What was the expansion in the company in few years?
Mr.Sanjay Joshi :-We are expanding Indian operations Y-O-Y by appointing new partners and key team members at different geography. Expansion in terms of product portfolio by bringing niche solutions, partner and team are the major target in few years.
