Dell hires former Infosys VP Prasad Thrikutam

Infosys senior executive was taken on board by Dell on the day he announced his decision of ending his near two decade engagement with the Bnagalore-based software company, a trend which underlines how information technology companies are gaining on Infosys’ inability to retain talent.

Prasad Thrikutam, formerly executive council member of Infosys, was made president and global Head of Application Services at Dell, said a company statement released on Thursday.

Prasad, who before quitting Infosys reported to BG Srinivas, one of the two presidents who also quit the company exactly a week before, was heading the global sales, marketing and alliances at Infosys.

“I am excited about being part of this journey and working with Adele’s talent team to help drive its strategy,” said Prasad, who in his new role would report to President of Dell Services, Suresh Vaswani, former chief of Wipro.

Prasad is the thirteenth senior executive to have walked out of Infosys since NR Narayana Murthy returned as executive chairman last June.

For this reason, consensus view among analysts and observers is that attrition among senior and mid-managerial ranks at Infosys is hurting the company match growth numbers of its rivals, including TCS and Cognizant.
