Dell 2-in-1 Latitude 7285: ‘World’s first’ wireless charging hybrid laptop launched

Dell has announced a new business-grade 2-in-1 laptop at CES 2017 event in Las Vegas. It is the first laptop to come with wireless charging support. The hybrid comes with Wi Tricity magnetic resonance wireless charging capabilities and WiGig docking.
The company said that users can grab their Latitude 7285 2-in-1 and immediately walk away from their desk without disengaging any wires or a physical dock. After returning to the desk, they can set the Latitude 2-in-1 on the power mat, and the device will begin charging immediately.
As for specifications, the Dell Latitude 7285 features a 12-inch display with 2880×1920 pixel resolution. The laptop is powered by Intel’s Kaby Lake chips paired with 8GB/16GB of RAM. In terms of storage it offers 512GB and there is also microSD card support. It also comes with an IR camera for support for Windows Hello.
The company claims that the 2-in-1 can deliver up to 6 hours of battery backup in tablet mode and up to 9 hours when it is attached to the keyboard base.
Dell is offering 2 types of keyboard bases—one is the productivity keyboard and other is the travel keyboard.
Dell also unveiled another 2-in-1 called Latitude 5285 at CES this year. The company claims that the device offers ‘ultimate in 2-in-1 mobility’ and is designed to be ‘powerful, secure and last all day’.
Running Windows 10 OS, Dell Latitude 5285 features a 12.3-inch Full HD display of 1920×1080 pixel resolution, secured further with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass.
Powering the 2-in-1 laptop is a 7th-gen Intel Core CPU paired with up to 16GB of RAM. For storage, the laptop offers up to 256GB M.2 SATA SSD, up to 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD or up to 512GB PCIe OPAL M.2 SSD.
The hybrid laptop has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing shooter for selfies. For connectivity, it offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 3.0, microSD and SIM.
