DEFTRONICS 2015 To Accelerate ‘Make in India’ In Defence Electronics

Focus on Aerospace, Defence and Internal Security sector; to be held on September 9-11, 2015

India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), the Deftronicpremier trade body representing the Indian Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry will be focusing on Building Global Partnerships for ‘Make in India’ in the Aerospace, Defence and Internal Security sectors at DEFTRONICS 2015.

The Indian Aerospace, Defence and Internal Security domains are growing rapidly but are still reliant on imports to a large extent. In this context, IESA, along with Roland Berger, will present a White Paper on Defence Electronics Policy during the inauguration in the presence of Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, H’ble Union Minister for Communications & Information Technology, Government of India, Smt. The platform has already achieved newer heights with the presence of leading Defence organisations like Boeing, Bharat Forge, HSMC, BEL, DRDO and many very senior government officials.

“India has a large number of Defence manufacturing programs and that provides ample opportunities for the electronics segment. There is a Rs. 70,000 crore worth opportunity for indigenous electronics production and this can bring a huge boost to our ‘Make in India’ agenda. DEFTRONICS, as a platform, will continue to focus on bringing ESDM and Defence sectors closer with a vision to stimulate Defence innovation from India.
