Depositors now have the opportunity to apply for refunds through the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal, and the money will be transferred to their bank accounts within 45 days. This refund portal is expected to be advantageous to around one crore depositors who are seeking refunds.
The Indian government has initiated the refund process of ₹5,000 crore for depositors who have their funds stuck in four cooperative societies of the Sahara Group. The Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah, launched the ‘CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal’ to facilitate this refund. He stated that the transparent trial process of returning the amount to the investors has commenced, marking the beginning of the refund for Sahara Group’s depositors. The portal was developed by a subsidiary of IFCI.

Eligible depositors of the following four Sahara Group cooperative societies can apply for a refund on the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal:
1. Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited (SCCSL)
2. Sahara India Real Estate Corporation Limited (SIRECL)
3. Sahara Housing Investment Corporation Limited (SHICL)
4. Sahara India Housing Investment Corporation Limited (SIHICL)
These depositors can use the portal to initiate the refund process and receive their funds directly into their bank accounts within 45 days.
