CISO Meet Held By Kaspersky Lab In Mumbai

The last week was action packed for Kaspersky Lab in India as overseas delegates visited the Country for a multi city Press tour. Other than addressing the media on the current security threat landscape; Kaspersky Lab officials in India organized a CISO meet at Hotel Sofitel in Mumbai. The visiting Kaspersky Lab delegates included Vitaly Kamluk – Director, Global Research & Analysis Team, APAC; Alejandro Arango – Global Director, Corporate Communications, Kaspersky Lab and Jesmond Chang, Head of Corporate Communications, APAC at Kaspersky Lab. Altaf Halde, Managing Director (South Asia) – Kaspersky Lab, India too was present on the occasion. The meet was graced by over 20 CISO’s from leading corporates belonging to verticals including BFSI, IT&ITES, Manufacturing, Telecom etc

At the CISO meet Vitaly Kamluk – Director, Global Research & Analysis Team, APAC spoke about the current threat landscape referring to targeted attacks. He said, “Our researchers have found India to be among the top 5 countries in the world to be attacked by Ransomware. India infact takes the 1 st spot in the list of countries that were attacked by Teslacrypt ransomware in March-May 2016 and ranked 4 th in the countries that was attacked by Locky ransomware during the same period. Ransomware is a type of malware that prevents or limits users from accessing their system. This is an alarming situation and needs to be addressed.” Vitaly concluded his speech by highlighting ways & means to protect Corporates from such targeted attacks.
