The 2022-23 budget outlines a balanced, value accretive, and pro-growth outlook. It’s an optimal mix of intent and pragmatism. The renewed focus on infrastructure, health, education, entrepreneurship, and digitization of the economy, resonates with the Economic Survey’s projected GDP growth rate of 8% for the next fiscal. The call-out on semiconductors as a sunrise sector and 5G roadmap post the success of PLI schemes launched last year will provide impetus to the segment. Furthermore, data-centric growth and democratization of digital banking augur well for our industry and will further bolster India’s aspirations, as the fastest developing digital economy in the world.
