BlackBerry has finally launched the BlackBerry Messenger app for the Windows Phone platform based devices. BlackBerry Messenger is now released as beta version for the Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 based devices. The BBM Beta is live and can be downloaded from the Windows Phone store.
BlackBerry and Microsoft had earlier announced to make the popular BBM app available for Windows Phone devices. The BBM was released for iOS and Android platform last October. And finally, folllowing nine months, the BBM app is made available for Windows Phone platform that too in beta stage.
As it is a win for the Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 based devices owners, but then again those users may not be able to revel in all features of the BBM. Windows Phone platform gets yet another multi-platform app but in beta stage. The popular Instagram service is still in the beta stage for the Windows Phone platform. BBM is currently available on BlackBerry,followed by BlackBerry 10, Android, iOS and now, Windows Phone platforms. As of now, this mobile instant messenger has to compete with WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, Viber, Hike and a slew of such mobile instant messaging services.
