BHIM app gets support for new languages and other features

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has released an update for BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) app on Android and iOS. The app now supports more Indian languages, scan QR saved in phone gallery to saend money, send money using phone contacts and more.

The app now supports Marathi, Punjabi and Assamese. The updated app is available both on Apple’s iOS and Google Play Store.

Launched on December 30, 2016, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI)-based BHIM mobile-app has been downloaded by 10 million users, according to Google Play Store.
In February this year, a new version of the BHIM app 1.2 was launched, which added support for seven new languages apart from English and Hindi, and additional features like pay to ‘Aadhaar number’, SPAM report, improvised customer redressal mechanism with drop down menu
