BenQ With 25% Projector Market Share Is Still The Leader In India

Projector market is growing steadily in India. Players like BenqSony , LG , NEC and BenQ have been producing and launching projectors for the Indian consumers every now and then. This year BenQ has managed to retain its top spot as the leader in the projector market sitting nicely at 25% market share.

BenQ grew from 22.3% (first quarter CY 2015) to 25% (first quarter CY 2016). Rajeev Singh, managing director, BenQ India said, “We are extremely proud and excited about strengthening our position & leading the Indian Projectors market, while also growing our market share to 25%. This is a result of BenQ’s strong focus on technology specifically meant for India, service capability and deep penetration of our sales & marketing efforts. There has been immense support from our channel partners & key customers who have contributed to the growth of the company in the market. BenQ aims to provide an incredible display experience, whether the consumer wants to use our product for Home Entertainment, Business or Education.”

Overall, BenQ has already registered a growth of 24% year on year and 50% when compared to the last quarter of CY 2015. The report also says, “With a 52% market share in the Full HD, a 28% share in the high brightness 4,000 AL – 4,999 AL and a 45% in the short throw category, BenQ leads all three fastest growing categories of the Indian projector market.”

Several reports have suggested that the urban Indian TV and projector market is growing with more young consumers coming into play. BenQ seems to have taken the lead in the projector arena followed by big multi-nationals like Sony , NEC and LG.
