Bengaluru to host Apple’s startup accelerator

Tim Cook’s first five-day India visit as Apple CEO will see him engage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and also launch two critical initiatives in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
There’s much excitement in the country’s startup capital about a first-of-its-kind startup accelerator programme that Apple will launch.
The programme will work closely with Indian app developers to leverage the Mac platform, ushering in an immersive app experience. The Cupertino-based company will work with developers and entrepreneurs in Bengaluru to create more local and relevant content for the iOS ecosystem.
Cook, who is arriving in India after a whirlwind tour of China, has zeroed in on Hyderabad to set up its frst technology centre focused on mapping services.
