Asus Zenfone 5 Lite shows up in an image ahead of possible MWC 2018 launch

We already have some idea of what major brands like Samsung, Sony, Nokia and others may launch at the upcoming Mobile World Congress or MWC 2018 conference at Barcelona, Spain. One company about which we didn’t hear until now was Asus. Although the handset-maker will be present at the conference, there was hardly a clue as to what it may launch. Now, smartphone tipster Evan Blass has posted an image of a smartphone by Asus that is likely to arrive later this month.

Blass has tweeted an image, showing a smartphone’s front and back side. The handset in question here is the Asus Zenfone 5 Lite. From the looks of it, the device looks similar to many of those from the Zenfone 4 series. It is seen with a dual rear and dual front-facing camera setup, alongside an 18:9 aspect ratio display. There will be a fingerprint sensor at the back and a 3.5mm earphone jack on top.
The tipster has even revealed some of the specifications of the smartphone. He says the Zenfone 5 Lite will be featuring dual 20MP selfie cameras and dual 16MP rear cameras. The screen will have a fullHD+ (1080×2160 pixels) resolution. Nothing else has been mentioned for now.
We are not yet sure if the Asus Zenfone 5 Lite will be the only smartphone launching at MWC 2018 or not. The company could also be launching the flagship device in the particular series.

Talking about smartphones in the same series, Win future website recently spotted what it claims is the ‘Asus Zenfone 5’ smartphone. The images of the handset were reportedly seen in the device’s manual. The website suggests the smartphone to feature a 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and dual rear cameras. The fingerprint sensor is seen at the back like the aforementioned Zenfone 5 Lite and the headphone jack also stays on top. The handset could be the more powerful variant of the Zenfone 5 Lite and may run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
