asrock28-1-14For 60 years, the iF product design award has been an internationally recognized label for award-winning design and the iF brand has become a symbol for outstanding achievements in design. We are delighted to let you know that – out of 3,249 entries – ASRock M8 was entered in the computer category then won an iF product design award 2014 and will be recognized with the renowned iF label!

Winning an iF product design award isn’t easy at all, the jury considered criteria such as design quality, finish, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental impact, functionality, ergonomics, visualization of intended use, safety, brand value and branding and aspects of universal design. “Winning the iF product design award is a great achievement for both ASRock and BMW Group DesignworksUSA. We are extremely overjoyed to see that our efforts have paid off,” said James, VP of ASRock Sales and Marketing.

“Our goal was to create desirability and iconic differentiation in a small Gaming-PC,” said Sonja Schiefer, Director, Munich Studio, BMW Group DesignworksUSA.  “To enhance the perception of pure power we created a design language focused on superlative and a design solution that is very much an exaggerated mode of expression.”

ASRock’s M8 features an aluminum exterior, while hidden magnets hold the whole case together. On the front, there’s a control knob and monitor hybrid called A-Command for users to setup their unique gaming rig. Inside the box lies a Z87 mini-ITX motherboard for advanced portability and space efficiency. The functionality of this gaming PC lives up to its awesome appearance too. The case may contain any standard mini-ITX for future upgrades, and M8 is sold as a barebone system so that gamers have the freedom of choosing their own components, such as swappable DDR3 DIMMs, any standard PCIe x16 graphics card, and also has 6 SATA3 ports lined up for storage.
