Apple to Launch AI-Powered Mail App for iPad and Mac in April 2025

Apple is set to bring AI-powered enhancements to its Mail app on iPad and Mac with the upcoming macOS 15.4 and iPadOS 18.4 updates, expected to roll out in April 2025. These updates will introduce advanced features powered by Apple Intelligence, making email management more efficient and user-friendly across devices.

The revamped Mail app, which was first introduced on iPhones with the iOS 18.2 update, already allows users to categorize emails into four groups, similar to Gmail. However, Apple’s Mail app has lagged behind Gmail in terms of AI-powered features such as prioritizing emails or categorizing them by type. The new updates aim to close this gap by incorporating functionalities like Smart Replies and Priority Messages.

Smart Replies will enable users to quickly generate responses to emails, saving time and effort, while Priority Messages will ensure that the most urgent emails are highlighted at the top of the inbox. These features are designed to make email management more intuitive, particularly for users managing high volumes of emails.

Additionally, Apple plans to enhance the Siri digital assistant, providing users with more detailed information about their installed apps. This improvement will further streamline productivity on iPads and Macs, complementing the upgraded Mail app.

According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the updates are part of Apple’s broader strategy to enhance the functionality and competitiveness of its native apps. By bringing AI-powered features to the Mail app, Apple aims to deliver a seamless and efficient email experience for its users across all devices.

With the updates rolling out in April 2025, Apple is taking another step toward modernizing its ecosystem, ensuring that users benefit from cutting-edge technology and enhanced productivity tools.
