AOC M601 With 6-Inch qHD Display Launched at Rs. 8,390

AOC, a Taiwanese company best known for its IPS and TFT monitor screens, has launched the AOC M601 in Red/Black colour combination at Rs. 8,390. The phablet is available via an e-commerce website, and while the company is yet to announce the handset officially, it has listed the smartphone on the company’s India site.

The single-SIM supporting AOC M601 sports a 6-inch IPS display with qHD (540×960 pixels) resolution. Running Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, the smartphone-tablet hybrid is powered by a dual-core 1.3GHz processor (unspecified), coupled with 512MB of RAM.

The AOC phablet features 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). The M601 also includes a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a 0.3-megapxiel (VGA) front-facing camera. Connectivity features of the AOC M601 comprise 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and FM radio. A 2100mAh battery powers the AOC M601 phablet, rated to deliver a talk time of up to 12 hours, music playback up to 12 hours, Internet use over Wi-Fi up to 4 hours, and video playback of up to 2 hours.

Some of the added functionalities on the handset are regional language input with Adaptxt Keyboard, free F-Secure Antivirus for 365 days, Your Movies app to download movies worth Rs. 2,000 for 60 days, music downloads worth Rs. 1,000 for 365 days free from Hungama app, and more. The AOC M601 is available to buy from the Amazon India website.

AOC, though being a new company in the smartphone segment, can however give a competition to smartphones from companies like iBall, Intex, Vivo and others. AOC has previously has created all in one PCs, and a portable monitor, which can be powered by a laptop via a USB cable.
