‘Android P’ and iOS 12 may come with this major change

In December last year we got a glimpse of the new emojis in Unicode 11 beta version that will be debuting this year. Now, Unicode Emoji 11.0 final set is out and it has as many as 157 new emojis for smartphone, tablet and anyone who basically uses an on-screen keyboard. These new emojis come in addition to the 2666 that are already there.

It is worth adding that these are not the final looks of the emojis. These are given to companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook and more so that they can customize it according to their will.

They can even hold on to some of them and roll out only a select few out of the entire list.
Emojibpedia website has shown some of the emojis, giving us a fair idea about what’s arriving later this year.
Out of those 157 new emojis, 77 are unique and the rest are their different skin colour versions. Some of the new smiley faces you will get to see in 2018 will include Woozy Face, Hot Face, Pleading Face, Partying Face and more. Some of the other emojis are redheads, curly hair, superheroes, a softball, skateboard, lobster and bagel.

Those 77 new emojis also include faces with curly hair, bald head, super villains and superheroes. Some of the animal emojis that will see the light of the day will be kangaroos, lobsters, mosquitoes, hippos and more. Emoji 11.0 also focuses on science as it has goggles, lab coat, petri dish, DNA among others.

Although it is not for sure when exactly these new emojis will reach your smartphones, but it is likely that we may see it arriving as a part of the OS update. For Android users, these may come along with Android P, which is supposed to be officially introduced at the upcoming Google IO 2018 conference and roll out in Q3 or Q4 this year. For Apple users, it may be introduced in or around June when the firm will launch iOS 12 and will roll it out around September or October.
