Alstom Transport Global IT Center Inaugurated In Bangalore

Alstom Transport has inaugurated at its Bangalore site in India a new global IT[1]centre where operations related AlSTOMto IT systems such as data centre, business applications and networks[2]will be carried out. Present at the inauguration were Christine Heckmann, Chief Information Officer at Alstom Transport, Bharat Salhotra, Managing Director, at Alstom Transport India Limited (ATIL3) and other local management. This new hub is another concrete step towards Alstom strategy to leverage India as a key centre for core business delivery.

The new centre- which sprawled over 40,000 square feet and will host over 150 employees – will play a vital role as the global centre for IT operations and project delivery for Alstom. It will be supported by Alstom’s global partners to deliver global IT operations and many key IT programmes.

“The vibrant IT services ecosystem, rich start-up community will help Alstom foster partnerships to support agility and speed that ever expanding global transport business needs as well as drive a culture of innovation to create competitive differential” said Christine Heckmann. Bharat Salhotra also said “This is another feather in the cap for Alstom Transport’s operations in India and our commitment to ‘Make-in-India’ strategy.”

Alstom Transport Bangalore site is an engineering centre of excellence where it develops signalling systems and trains engineering for the Indian urban and mainline sectors.
