Airtel offers 4GB data for Rs 5, here’s all that you will get

Telecom giants in India have been in a fierce price battle ever since Reliance Jio entered the fray last September. To fight competition and keep their subscriber base intact, Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and other telecom companies have announced a slew of plans offering data and voice plans at affordable rates. In the latest move, country’s No. 1 telecom service provider Airtel has introduced a new data plan that costs just Rs 5. The Rs 5 data plan comes just days after the company introduced Rs 8 plan for prepaid customers.
Airtel’s Rs 5 plan is for prepaid users and it offers users 4GB of 4G data. However, the validity of this data is only for seven days. Also, the Rs 5 prepaid plan is available only for 4G SIM cards. In addition, the Rs 5 plan is also a one-time recharge. Also mentioned is that once the seven days are over, the data won’t be carried forward. The company further added that new SIM card holders need to go for the plan within 54 days of the purchase of a new SIM. The existing Airtel prepaid users can also avail the plan. The company confirmed the plan details to Gadgets Now.
Rs 8 plan: Local and STD calls for 30 paisa
Under the Rs 8 plan, Airtel subscribers will be able to make local and STD calls at 30 paisa per minute for a period of 56 days.
Rs 15 plan: Local calls at 10 paisa
With recharge of Rs 15, Airtel subscribers will be allowed to make calls to the same network at 10 paisa per minute for a period of 27 days.
Rs 40 plan: Unlimited validity
On recharge of Rs 40, subscribers will get talk time of Rs 35 with unlimited validity.
