Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital launches Special Cancer Screening Packages On World Cancer Day

 Aditya Birla Hospital also organized awareness lecture for women on various cancer diseases.

Marking the occasion of World Cancer Day on 4th February, Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital (ABMH), Pune’s aditya-birlafirst Joint Commission International (JCI), USA accredited Hospital launched a Cancer Screening camp. Keeping in line with the theme of World Cancer Day 2016, “We can, I can”, Aditya Birla Hospital’s special cancer screening offer will continue till 29thFebruary 2016. An awareness lecture is also being organized for women on cancer highlighting the different kinds of cancer commonly detected in women, probable causes for it, symptoms, advantage of doing regular check up and the increase in the number of cases getting cured for an early detection.

“We believe everyone can make a difference fighting cancer. It’s important that we raise awareness of the importance of early detection and treatment and organize such preventive cancer screening checkups where people can screen themselves at economical rates”, shared Ms. RekhaDubey, CEO, Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital. “Its also important that we create positivity about the diseases by educating people about the survival rates and encouraging people to do their regular check-ups. This will significantly help in the early detection of the disease and thereby reducing the chances of death caused by this disease when diagnosed at a later stage”, she further added.

Globally, 14.1 million people learn they have cancer every year. The most common cancers are lung, breast, bowel and prostate. With recent breakthroughs in research and treatment, cancer survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years.
