Twitter Releases Four Indian Languages

Twitter, which was recently in the news for releasing a native Windows 10 app is making the headlines again. Well, the popular microblogging site has added four new Indian languages namely, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil to its Android app and Web. Twitter which was earlier restricted to just two languages, Hindi and Bengali, now comprises six languages with the addition of new languages.

A user would have to click on ‘Settings’ and choose his/her preferred language from the drop down menu to change the language. Android users however, can change the language settings on their mobile devices to one of these four languages.

With the introduction of these new launguages, Twitter seems to make its platform more accessible and user-friendly for people across the country. Reports further revealed that a passionate community of Twitter users partially translated these four languages through the Translation Center, which was of great help for Twitter developers. According to eMarkerter, Twitter currently enjoys a user base of 22.2 million in India.

Meanwhile, Twitter’s recently launched Windows 10 app include some jaw-dropping features like live tiles, support for animated GIFs, ability to upload multiple (up to four) photos, Vine playback and sharing images via Direct Messages.
