TRAI Regional Office, Jaipur, organized a seminar on “Rating of Buildings for Digital Connectivity” at RIC, Jaipur, in the backdrop of the “Rating of Properties for Digital Connectivity Regulations” issued on 25.10.2024. The seminar aimed to create awareness among stakeholders regarding the framework and its implementation.
Shri Rajesh K. Agarwal, ITS, Regional Head, TRAI RO Jaipur, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing digital connectivity as a critical infrastructure for modern buildings.
Shri Mukesh Kumar Chauhan, ITS, Addl. DGT, Rajasthan LSA, The Chief Guest inaugurated the seminar and highlighted the need to integrate digital connectivity provisions in building planning to meet the growing demand for seamless communication services.
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from a wide range of stakeholders, including RERA, CREDAI, property managers, Department of Telecom, Government of Rajasthan (DoIT, UDH, Town Planning, Nagar Nigam, Hotel AssociationJaipur Metro), Digital Connectivity Rating Agencies (DCRAs), IP-1 providers, telecom and internet service providers, MNIT Jaipur, Institute of Town Planning, and architecture colleges.
Shri Tejpal Singh, Advisor (QoS), TRAI, explained the building rating framework and addressed participants’ queries. Eminent speakers, including Shri Anurag Sharma (Chairman, CREDAI Rajasthan) and Shri Husain Khan (President, Hotel Federation of Rajasthan), shared their perspectives on the importance of incorporating digital connectivity infrastructure in urban development.
Technical sessions covered key aspects of the regulations. Shri Pawan Kumar from MoHUA spoke on integrating digital connectivity infrastructure into the National Building Code and model building bye-laws. Shri Tarun Taunk demonstrated the rating process and the role of DCRAs. Shri Manoj Mishra from Indus Towers Ltd. discussed in-building solutions to enhance consumer experience.
A panel discussion on “Challenges & Opportunities in Implementing Digital Connectivity Rating Framework” brought together experts from industry, academia, and government, highlighting the need for collaborative efforts for effective implementation.
The seminar provided a valuable platform for stakeholder dialogue and reinforced TRAI’s commitment to promoting robust digital infrastructure in buildings to enhance quality of service and ensure seamless connectivity for consumers.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri J. P. Garg, Joint Advisor, TRAI RO Jaipur.
