Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest tablet lineup alongside the launch of the Xiaomi 17 series, introducing the new Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro. Both models come with premium specifications and features designed to enhance multimedia, productivity, and gaming experiences.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro are equipped with an 11.2-inch LCD display boasting a 3.2K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits peak brightness. The displays support full DC dimming, HDR10, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision, ensuring sharp, vibrant visuals. For users seeking reduced glare, Xiaomi offers a Matte edition, which features an AG texture coating that reduces reflections by up to 70%, making it more comfortable to use in bright environments.
Both tablets include a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 9,200mAh battery. Charging speeds differ between the models, with the Pad 8 supporting 45W fast charging and the Pad 8 Pro capable of 67W charging, promising quick top-ups for extended usage.
In terms of design, the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro are identical, measuring 5.75mm in thickness and weighing 485 grams, giving them a sleek and portable profile. Both run HyperOS 3, Xiaomi’s latest OS based on Android 16, and offer modern connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 7, USB-C, and Bluetooth 5.4.

Pricing for the standard Pad 8 starts at CNY 2,199 ($310) for the 8GB/128GB variant, with the 12GB/256GB model priced at CNY 2,799 ($390). The Matte edition costs slightly more, ranging from CNY 2,699 ($380) to CNY 2,999 ($420) depending on configuration.
The Pad 8 Pro is priced starting at CNY 2,799 ($390) for the 8GB/128GB variant, with the highest-end 16GB/512GB option costing CNY 3,899 ($550). The Pro Matte edition starts at CNY 3,599 ($505) and goes up to CNY 4,099 ($575) for the top-tier variant.
