Perplexity AI has unveiled its new Email Assistant, an intelligent tool designed for Gmail and Outlook that helps users manage their inbox efficiently. Available immediately for all Perplexity Max subscribers, the assistant can draft responses, schedule meetings, and prioritize emails, effectively acting as a personal email manager.
The AI assistant adapts to each user’s communication style, ensuring that all emails reflect their preferred tone. It also monitors the user’s schedule to suggest optimal meeting times, making email management and planning more seamless. According to a blog post by Perplexity AI, users can interact with the assistant to get insights about their inbox, such as: “Which emails should I address before my board meeting?” or “Summarize all messages regarding the Q4 budget.” The tool can also identify urgent emails from specific teams or projects, helping users stay on top of critical tasks.
Users can simply CC the Email Assistant on any conversation, allowing it to handle scheduling and automatically label and organize emails. This feature also helps filter spam and keeps the inbox clutter-free.
Perplexity AI emphasizes privacy and security, noting that the Email Assistant is SOC 2 and GDPR compliant and does not train on individual user data. This ensures users can benefit from AI-powered email management without compromising confidentiality.
The launch follows the company’s recent expansion of its AI-powered browser Comet to Pro subscribers in India on September 22, highlighting Perplexity AI’s continued efforts to enhance productivity tools for its growing user base.
