Reliance Industries has announced JioPC, a cloud-based computing service, at its 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025. The company says the product will redefine personal computing in India by transforming a regular TV into a fully functional, AI-ready computer through the Jio Set-Top Box.
With JioPC, users don’t need a traditional CPU or bulky hardware. The system works entirely on Jio’s cloud infrastructure and can be accessed by simply connecting a keyboard and mouse to a Jio Set-Top Box powered by JioFiber or JioAirFiber. Reliance highlights that the virtual computer will remain secure, updated, and scalable, with the flexibility to upgrade storage, memory, and performance on demand.
A Vision for Accessible Computing
Explaining the innovation, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio, described JioPC as a transformative step in democratizing access to high-performance computing.
“JioPC turns any TV or screen into a full-feature AI-ready computer. With no upfront investment, users can instantly access a virtual computer from Jio’s cloud. It gives every student, professional, and entrepreneur in India the same level of computing power that was once limited to a few,” Ambani said.
The company envisions JioPC as a tool not just for document creation and online learning but also for advanced simulations, design, and productivity, bringing AI-driven computing into mainstream households and workplaces.
How JioPC Works
Getting started is simple—connect a keyboard to the Jio Set-Top Box, and the virtual desktop activates immediately. Since the service is cloud-based, users don’t have to worry about outdated hardware or operating systems. Updates, patches, and security enhancements are handled remotely, ensuring uninterrupted performance.
