Samsung Confirms Exynos 2600 with 2nm GAA Tech, 10-Core CPU & Advanced AI Set to Power 2026 Flagships

Samsung has officially confirmed that it is gearing up to launch its next-generation mobile processor, the Exynos 2600, marking a significant step forward in the company’s semiconductor strategy. The announcement came during its Q2 2025 earnings call, where Samsung revealed that mass production will begin by the end of this year. The new processor is expected to debut in the Galaxy S26 Edge and Galaxy S26 Pro smartphones, which are anticipated to launch in early 2026.

What sets the Exynos 2600 apart is its construction using Samsung’s advanced 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process technology. This cutting-edge manufacturing method promises notable improvements in power efficiency, performance, and heat management compared to existing 3nm and 4nm designs. By adopting the 2nm GAA process, Samsung is positioning itself to compete more aggressively with industry leaders Qualcomm and Apple in the premium smartphone chip segment.

AI at the Core

While Samsung has yet to disclose full architectural details, early reports indicate a major focus on artificial intelligence capabilities. The Exynos 2600 is expected to feature a more powerful Neural Processing Unit (NPU), enabling faster and more efficient on-device AI processing. This will enhance a variety of smartphone functions, including voice recognition, real-time image enhancement, predictive text input, and intelligent camera adjustments.

New Cooling Innovation

One of the common challenges with high-performance smartphone processors is heat buildup, which can throttle performance and affect battery life. Samsung is reportedly introducing a new Heat Pass Block (HPB) cooling approach in the Exynos 2600. This technology is aimed at better thermal management, allowing the chip to maintain peak performance for longer durations while reducing overheating and battery drain during intensive tasks like gaming and 4K video recording.

Performance Expectations

Leaked benchmark scores paint an optimistic picture for Samsung’s new processor. Allegedly, the Exynos 2600 has achieved over 2,100 points in single-core performance and around 7,800 in multi-core tests on Geekbench 6. If accurate, this represents a meaningful upgrade over the Exynos 2400, particularly in sustained workloads.

The chip is rumored to adopt a 10-core CPU configuration:

  • 1 Prime Core at approximately 3.55GHz for maximum performance.

  • 3 Performance Cores running at 2.9GHz for demanding tasks.

  • 6 Efficiency Cores at 2.46GHz to optimize battery life.

This layout is designed to balance raw power with energy efficiency, ensuring a smooth user experience across different usage scenarios.

Competitive Landscape

The launch of the Exynos 2600 will take place amid intense competition in the flagship processor space. Qualcomm is working on its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2, which has reportedly scored over 4,000 in single-core and 11,000 in multi-core tests. Apple is preparing its A19 Pro chip for the iPhone 17 Pro, with leaked scores exceeding 4,000 single-core and 10,000 multi-core — potentially giving it a 15–20% performance edge over the A18 Pro.

With all three tech giants preparing major processor launches for 2026, Samsung’s Exynos 2600 will face stiff competition. However, with its 2nm GAA process, enhanced AI, innovative cooling, and balanced CPU design, it could mark a major comeback for Samsung’s in-house chips in the flagship smartphone arena.
